ファイナルファンタジー10で英語学習！Part2

FF10が本当に素晴らしいゲームなので、シリーズ化したいと思います。

DarioのLet Play FF10で最終回までスクリプトを見ていきますが、

今回は、次の一文を見てみましょう。

まず1文目。

Don't bother going

 bother は普通 bother someoneで"誰かをいらいらさせる"の様に使いますが、

 bother ~ing で ～する手間がかかる、という意味になります。

Don't と言っているので、そんな無駄な手間はかけるな、ということです。

何が無駄な手間なのかというと、

going after all of them で、「敵の奴ら全員を追っていく」の意味なので、

 たくさんいる敵全員を倒していくのは無駄な手間なので、その必要はない、ということになります。

次に2文目。

Cut the ones 

onesは先ほどのthem、敵のことですね、多数の中の一部を指すときにoneと言います。

that matter,  はonesを後ろから修飾して、「問題になる敵を切って」となります。

and run!

runには「逃げる」という意味もありますが、ここでは進んでいるのでそのまま、走れ、です。
