How NOT to shoot in 360º VR

stitch

くらいかな、ディズニーのかわいいキャラクター。

 内容難しくないので聞き取りやすいと思います。

それでは今日もYouTube英語を楽しんでいきましょう!

Hi there.
00:05
I'm Tom and I have a few suggestions to think about when you're shooting a 360 degree video.
00:10
The best way to learn from this experience and watching this video,
00:13
is with a head mounted display, like cardboard.
00:18
Go ahead and go get yours.
00:21
Put it on.
00:22
So the first thing to be aware of is, where are your stitch lines?
00:27
And they get worse the closer an actor gets to the camera.
00:31
So you don't want to have an actor just hang out right in the stitch,
00:35
have them move right through it.
00:37
Stay out of that area.
00:38
And it's important to remember to treat the camera like a person,
00:41
about the same eye level as the person would be and you want to give the person personal space.
00:47
So if I get too close to the camera, it starts to feel a little awkward.
00:55
So what if you and I go for a walk together?
00:58
Of course, you're not really walking, are you?
01:00
You're being sort of carried along on the end of this selfie stick I'm holding
01:04
and that means that your eyes are telling you that you're moving
01:07
but your body is telling you that you're not and that is a recipe for motion sickness.
01:12
We also have to be careful not to rotate the camera
01:15
because rotation is the one thing we've handed over to the audience and said,
01:18
you can look where ever you want and if I'm going to hand over that control,
01:22
I really shouldn't take it back.
01:25
So does this mean we should never move the camera?
01:27
Well right now you're being helped out by something we call the cockpit effect,
01:31
where yes you're zooming along but you have the car around you as a frame of reference.
01:36
Of course, this is a situation we're all used to.
01:41
So it's a good idea to keep the camera stable.
01:43
It's also important to keep it level.
01:46
Tilting the camera is not the same as in a movie where it's just an interesting shot.
01:50
We're tilting the entire world and putting you on the deck of a sinking ship.
01:58
A lot of 360 cameras are small enough to carry in the palm of my hand but how does that feel to you?
02:03
Look down at that giant hand holding you.
02:06
Do you like being carried around?
02:10
Feels kind of weird huh.
02:11
In 360, the camera is a person and every shot is a place that I'm basically teleporting you to.
02:18
So can we make a fast paced music video with a lot of quick edits?
02:23
Let's try it.
02:25
Where are you now?
02:26
In each new place, you need some time to look around at where you are.
02:32
So here's a common situation for a scene.
02:34
You're at a table with a group of people, you're on a chair
02:37
and you're about the same eye level as the rest of us
02:40
but a lot of creators make the mistake of thinking hey, it's 360,
02:43
I should have the camera right in the center of the table.
02:47
But how does this feel?
02:48
If you're trying to keep track of who's talking,
02:50
you have to keep spinning your head around, right guys?
02:52
That's right Tom. I agree.
02:54
And also, based on your location, what is your role in the scene right now?
02:59
Think about it, you're the food.
